About the role
We're looking for an Operations Center Engineer specialising in Database Monitoring Services to join Saudi Digitalization's managed services practice. You'll be responsible for proactive monitoring, performance analysis, and first-line incident response across enterprise database environments including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL.
Working within our Operations Center, you'll use performance monitoring tools to detect anomalies, identify bottlenecks, and coordinate resolution of database incidents in line with agreed SLAs. You'll work closely with application and infrastructure teams to ensure database availability and performance across complex, multi-tier environments.
This role requires a solid foundation in database administration, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to communicate technical findings clearly to both engineering peers and client stakeholders.
What you'll do
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage enterprise databases including Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL
- Use performance monitoring tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager and SQL Profiler to identify and respond to issues
- Detect, analyse, and respond to database incidents within agreed SLA windows
- Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend optimisation measures
- Escalate complex issues to senior DBAs with clear incident documentation
- Maintain database availability dashboards and performance baselines
- Document root-cause analyses, incident reports, and remediation steps
What we're looking for
Skills & requirements
- Saudi National Only
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years of experience managing and monitoring enterprise databases (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL)
- Experience with performance monitoring tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager and SQL Profiler
- Ability to identify performance issues, troubleshoot, and optimise database performance
- Professional certification in database administration or monitoring (preferred)
- Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written)
Bonus points
Nice to have
- Experience with database high availability and replication (RAC, Always On, clustering)
- Knowledge of scripting for automated monitoring and alerting
- Oracle DBA or Microsoft SQL Server certification
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MariaDB, or cloud-managed database services (RDS, Cloud SQL)
- Familiarity with database backup and recovery procedures
